Loved this collection just as much as Mix Tape! I was completely engaged from beginning to end. Great dialogue, fun characters, and exciting stories. I highly recommend it.

Gaines delivers in a big way once again with this smart, witty, heartfelt collection. This book is a must read! Gaines has solidly proven himself as a writer to follow--I will read everything he publishes and I am certain we can expect bigger an bigger things from him in the years to come!
Great writing, great read. Gaines shows his further growth with this new collection. Warm, sensitive with a twist. All add up to a satisfying experience. You'll be looking for more once the last page has turned.
One-act plays live and die on the strength of their dialogue. Not only does Mr. Gaines create rich and complex scenarios in the course of a couples of pages, it's the fact he does it almost entirely through dialogue alone.
I cannot recommend this enough. And at 99 cents, you don't really have an excuse to not buy it.
Reading Gaines is like walking out onto a dark street corner, lit only by a single street lamp- a light which is unpredictable, cast shadows, and may burn out at any moment. No, this isn't just the first act of Fire Sale. It's the visceral experience you get by courageously plunging into these stories. Gaines opens the door to the real world the characters are full of both wit and self-denial, the scenes are illuminated by caustic humor which might melt into irony at the turn of a page, and the stories reflect the meeting of your mind's greatest fantasies and bitter truths. All of that packed in this adventure. And you love it the whole time.
It is difficult not to read this compilation without thinking of great story tellers like Aaron Sorkin and Paul Thomas Anderson. There is a charm to every story here -- a collection of emotions that build from the beginning. You may not know exactly what is happening at first, but the pay off is stunning. The mark of a great story teller is to keep the reader wanting more; to have to know what happens on the pages that follow. Adam Gaines, is a Veteran in heart and natural talent -- one that will have you wanting more and more from him for years to come. His style of writing here plays all the instruments for me. He is cool and daring. He is witty and brilliant. Open and honest about who he is and what he loves and the things that affect his life are in these pages -- what he is talking about is relatable to all of us and I have no doubt that we all will be affected having read his work. He has something to say and it is well worth us listening to.
